I just want to make a comment about Paula. I so appreciated her kind comments to Scott. I think, deep-down, she is a very kind individual, and, this year, it seems she is so much better able to articulate her thoughts.

no1special, Gokey is the only one older than I am as well. I remember in season 2 when almost everyone was older than me. Ahh, the younger days. Nice to see you, and congrats on the new baby!

Miljan, I was excited that many complaints from blogs seem to have been answered this week--no voiceover announcer and judges "strut" on tuesday, no lip-syncing on wednesday. I think they are listening!

Also, I was very disappointed by Pickler's performance. In a world of country music with cute blonde young girls like Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, and even Julianne Hough (who isn't nearly as good as the first two), Kellie's performance didn't even come close. She wants to run with the big dogs, but last night proved she doesn't have the chops.

And yeah, finally they didn't lipsync, it didn't sound overproduced as usual, but it was great and it didn't hurt.
Hope they keep it this way.

@Sherye:
Are you basically saying they should have kept him only because he's blind? I mean, come on, that would not be fair to other contestants who don't have a handicap. And besides, Scott was the worst singer in the top 8 and for once, there was the right choice.
Anyhow, now that he's out, it gets really tough, because I like ALL of the rest... :/

And yeah... Pickler - I can't stand her since that clip from the quiz... I really can't have any sympathy for somebody with such a low degree of common knowledge and basic education...

Well, I must say that Scott is truly a class act, and that Paula showed a lot of class, too, with her closing words to him. I will gladly admit that I am a grown man and I sat on the couch and cried when the show was over. I was ready for him to go, but it was still touching and a little bit sad to see it end for him. The truth is, though, he will do very well and have a great summer of touring. He is a very fortunate, and a very inspirational young man.

I am so tired of hearing people who get their feelings hurt because their favorite contestant isn't getting a fair shake for one reason or another.

I don't care that Lil is black. It's her countrified drawl and lackluster performances that will cause her to leave. It's not because she can't get enough votes from black people.

I don't care that Adam is gay and likes to french kiss boys. I am not a homophobe. I just don't like men who sing like women. It's not right wing gay-bashers who will keep him from getting votes, it is people who will vote for someone who likes to hear a different style than the one he offers. I like men to sing like men and women to sing like women. Just me, though, and I only vote with one phone at a time. Even the Adam-lovers are begging for him to stop with the screeching.

I don't care that Allison is "only 16" as we have heard a million times. She has a style that will appeal to a certain group of people, and it's probably a larger group that the one Adam appeals to. She's not just good for a kid. She's really good, for anyone at any age.

I don't care that Matt, Danny, and Kris are worship leaders at their home churches. They each bring their own thing to the table, and only one of them has had the show pimping them as the Christian Contestant.

I don't care that Anoop is Indian (or whatever ethnic group he is) and that all the people in the phone centers working for HP and Microsoft are voting for him while at work. He's immature and it shows through in his performance.

Let's just lay it out there. People, voters, FANS are the ones who will decide this competition in the end. Regardless of how hard sites like Vote For The Worst try to mess it up, with numbers like 38 MILLLION voting, everything will come out it the wash and the public will decide who wins.

There aren't enough racists to skew the results.
There aren't enough homophobes to skew the results.
There aren't enough Christians to skew the results.
There aren't enough atheists to skew the results.
There aren't enough blind/handicapped people to skew the results.
There aren't enough black people to skew the results.

BUT, there are enough people in middle America that will cast enough votes to make sure that the winner will be the person who has the most universal mass appeal.

The gays and lesbians will like the winner.
The Christians will like the winner.
The heterosexual men will like the winner.
All women will like the winner.
The metrosexuals will like the winner.
College kids will like the winner.
Young marrieds will like the winner.

So, the way I see it, only one contestant can capture the votes from all the groups listed above, and that is the person who I believe will win. Who do you think it will be?
