Elimination Night: the Pick-ster is back edition
March 19th, 2008
Tonight determines the summer tour members…so this is a pretty big milestone.
Ryan tells us our mentors this season, which are apparently announced in order of bra size from large to small: Dolly “My boobs arrive in the room 3 minutes ahead of me” Parton, Mariah “I have a 15 octave range” Carey, Lord Andrew Lloyd “Jellicle cat” Webber, and Neil “I’m not just coming to America, I own it” Diamond. This should be great fun! Seriously–Neil Diamond night? I love the horror already.
Another Beatles medley this week. Way too show-choir-y this week. Like this has to be the worst medley yet. But did you see my new BFF JPL (and chicken little) in the audience? Ahh how I <3 idol alumni.
Obligatory Recap ensues.
Brooke White comes out, and is sent to the "safe couch." Carly comes out, and is sent to the "stools of death."
David A comes out and is sent to the couch, as is Michael the Aussie.
After the break, we get to see the making of the Ford commercial. It looked freezing there--not as fun as it seems, maybe?
David Cook is up and sent to the couches. Kristy is up next, and returns to her very comfortable spot in the bottom 3.
Jason Castro is up and sent to the tour couch. Ramiele is up and is sent to the couch as well.
Another break and we get more user questions! Simon claims he has no ego. Paula is a good kisser. Ramiele likes R. Kelley, and Michael peaked in Hollywood.
Now Miss Calamari herself, Kellie Pickler, is back, singing Red High Heels (an excellent workout mix song, people!) Her performance is blah - the studio recording is way better.
After the break Elliott and Babymama traveled to Angola, pink press-on nails and all (who picks that nail color!!!!) to distribute mosquito nets - such a great cause! Idol Gives Back is a-comin'!
Back to the killings: Syesha is sent to the safe couch. Chikezie and Amanda are center stage and Chikezie is safe.
After the break, Carly is sent back to the couches, leaving Amanda and Kristy center stage. Kristy pulls another Houdini, and Amanda is out.
I am sad because she would have enhanced the tour in a SERIOUS way. Kristy was the one who really deserved to go. She will need a serious miracle (or a serious screw-up by someone else) to stick around next week. Unless next week is country week. Then she might have a shot again.
Just a little housekeeping tidbit: today idolreview.net got its 100,000th visitor! I am so proud!

I feel like I need to give away a prize or something. So congratulations random visitor from Brooklyn, NY at 7ish EDT, email me to get a shout out or something!
Also, tomorrow I will be posting an Exclusive(!) interview with Kim Caldwell! Yay for the phone interviews! (I could totally get used to this.)

America once again looks foolish to the rest of the world in its choices of talent. Whether the people are voting for President of the US or the top 10 American Idols to go on tour, America makes the uneducated decision. Amanda Overmyer is one of the most creative and talented performers among the Idols and should never have gone home. On the other hand it’s clear to me that politics and ethnicity played a major role in keeping Ramiele Malubay in the top 10 when she performed the worse of anyone for the past 2 weeks, (not to mention this pathetic little girl coy thing she does). I wonder if there will ever be a day I won’t have to be embarrassed when traveling abroad to say where I’m from. American people – WISE UP PLEASE!

I really thought it was time for Amanda to go. I liked GIna much better last season. Oh, and surprisingly, I thought Kellie Pickler was really good. I was entertained. She’s cute and flirty, and fun to listen to.

You’re right, the Pickle was 10 times twangy-er last night than in the recording. I like that song and have been listening to it ever since it came out. congrats on all the visitors! Maybe someday my blog will make it there. right now I’m on 1,125!

THANK GOD YOURE HERE, I was out and missed everything! I rely on you, you know.
So Amanda got kicked off – I have to say, I’m surprised. I thought her fan base was bigger than that. I am starting to smell a Sanjaya epidemic, though – that KLC girl has GOT to know she sucks in the scheme of things. SUCKS. Does the Pickle still have optic nerve-searing stringy crispy blonde hair? Thought so.
Will SOMEONE please tell me why Carly was in the bottom three? That’s absolutely insane. I don’t understand that at all. I’m just gonna start voting for her for spite. CONGRATS on your site’s success! I’m gonna stay tuned :D

I was very happy to see Amanda go. No more slurred songs plus I wasn’t too fond of her attitude. Like she was too cool for AI. Well then why did you audition?
Carly in the bottom three was wrong. There are too many people on the I hate Carly train.
Ramiele is getting on my nerves with the cute little girl act. Speak up and talk with confidence.

I’m just ticked Amanda’s big ‘ole head won’t be on your map this year!!!!
